- Family StoryA few words come to mind when reflecting on the Leslie family’s path over the last few decades: Global experiences, education, and sports. Growing up with teachers and coaches for parents, it is no surprise that Nate and Boe Leslie have fallen into the world of global travel and youth sport development. Their mother Barbara has taught around the world for 35 years including the past 12 years at International Schools in Bonn, Germany and Zurich, Switzerland. Her dedication to internationalism and education has been a tangible inspiration for her sons. Their father Bob’s career began as a professional player in the WHL, CIAU, IHL, Austria, and a brief but memorable stint with the Los Angeles Kings in the NHL. Following 15 years as a teacher and guidance counsellor in Manitoba, Bob has spent the past 20 years coaching hockey professionally in Europe’s elite leagues. - TestimonialsTestimonials “I highly recommend The Complete Season for all youth hockey coaches. Boe and Nate Leslie have created a unique system of coach and player mentorship. I’ve enjoyed watching them develop their coaching business with the same professionalism and passion they brought to the game as players.” (Andy Murray, Head Coach St Louis Blues, NHL, 2009 Jack Adams Coach of the Year Finalist) “The Complete Season is a great tool for any youth hockey coach. The skills and systems are taught through structured practices based on a skills curriculum, ice and time management. The practices are competitive, fun, and players will improve.”(Dean Evason, Assistant Coach, Washington Capitals, NHL) “The coaching manual from Leslie Global Sports will be a great benefit to all youth hockey organizations. Boe and Nate have a lot of experience in youth hockey development and it shows in their attention to skill development and practice plans. I highly recommend the use of The Complete Season.” (Doug Roberts, former NHL player, 24 year Connecticut College NCAA coach) Being a first year coach for a squirt travel team has made me try to clear the cobwebs for all of those drills from too many years ago. The drill and play books I bought were designed for…

Final Day in NZ: All good things must come to and end
0
All good things must come to an end, or so the saying goes. Our last day in Queenstown included our 2nd day with the adult group and a pot luck dinner with our hosts Sharron and Ross Burns as well as many friendly faces from the hockey community. For many of the adults the 2 sessions on Sunday marked their …

With adult men and women on the ice, in the classroom, and training their stickhandling and shooting skills off ice, the weekend has been great. Tree Clinton and I started …

Day 6&7 in NZ: We’ll Jump off What??
So we really are coaching. Thursday night was another club night, with two groups of local kids, followed by a practice with the Southern Stampede. Due to adrenaline coursing through my veins, and lactic acid meandering through my legs, today’s post will be of the visual variety. The following photos and video finale will take you through the past 48 hours: …

Day 5 in NZ: Wine Tours and Adult Clinics
If I were a statistics major I’d know that it takes a sample size of at least 30 to be able to make any kind of conclusive statement. In other words we’d need to stay here 30 days to really know if there is such thing as a bad day in Queenstown. Due to budget and time constraints, I’ve decided …

Day 4 in NZ: Tree How Did I Get Here?
Don’t you hate it when wine tasting tours get in the way of blogging time? Once again the locals go above and beyond, and host Sharron Ross is on her way to pick us up for a day of vineyard tours. But more on that in Day 5. We finally had a chance last night to catch up with the …

Throughout the remainder of the week days we’ll be working with coaches, local club teams, the Southern Stampede, and adult recreational players in the evenings. That leaves us the daytime to explore this incredible part of the country. As we have mentioned time and again this week, we are blown away with the hospitality of the local hockey community. Monday’s …
