LGS Coyotes Youth Spring Hockey

Based in the Greater Vancouver area, the LGS Coyotes Spring Hockey program is built to help youth players learn hockey skills, knowledge, tactics and strategies that are sometimes forgotten in youth hockey curriculum.

    Program Outline

  • Program runs from April to June 2027
  • 1 x 2 hour on-ice practice time each week (to reduce commute times and free up schedules)
  • Practices are @Richmond Olympic Oval
  • Recreational teams play weekend games in YHL at Canlan North Shore. See here for more info on YHL.
  • 2-3 local Metro Vancouver tournaments per season.
  • Experienced LGS coaches work with players in ratios of 6-8:1 for individual skill development
  • Our coaches focus on catching players doing things right to facilitate positive reinforcement.
  • We value FUN and learning above all else! 
  • We coach kids first, hockey second. 
  • Full access to How to Play Hockey curriculum.
  • Game & Practice Jerseys included in registration.
  • Additional team merch available.

ID Skate / Tryout on Wednesday Nov. 11, 2026 @Scotiabarn Burnaby

U13 (2016 & 2015) 8:45am-10:05am (Rink 3)
U15 (2014 & 2013) 10:15am-11:35am (Rink 3)
U17 (2012 & 2011) 1:15pm-2:20pm (Rink 5)

To secure your player’s spot, please e-transfer $60 (U13 & U15) or $50 (U17) to nate@lgsports.ca. In the e-transfer message, please state: “Coyotes ID Skate”, your player’s full name, birth year, current association/club/level, preferred position, and contact email. Families will be contacted 7-10 days prior to the ID skate with further details.

LGS Coyotes HK Travel Teams 2027

In Spring 2026, the LGS Coyotes launched our inaugural international travel team, bringing together players from Vancouver and Taipei to compete in the U13A Division at the Mega Ice Hockey 5’s in Hong Kong.

Following a successful first year, the LGS Coyotes are excited to return to Hong Kong in 2027 with plans to compete in two divisions:

U13A: 2014 & 2015-born players
U15A: 2012 & 2013-born players

Recruitment for our 2027 Hong Kong travel teams is now open.

Player & Family Requirements

  • Players must currently play Rep, AAA, or Prep level

  • Families are required to travel to Hong Kong with their player

  • Families are responsible for arranging their own flights and accommodations (tournament hotel partnership rate will be available)

  • Estimated program cost is $1,600–$1,800 per player, which includes tournament fees, team practices in Vancouver, and LGS Coyotes team jerseys/apparel

Founder of Leslie Global Sports. Certified Executive Coach (PCC, CEC, M.Ed.). Educator. Leadership Trainer. Former Professional Hockey Player.  Responsible for vision, philosophy, strategy, & coach development at LGS.

Bryant Hsiao

Lead Coach / Program Coordinator

Primarily a skills development coach, Bryant is currently an assistant coach of the Greater Vancouver Canadians U17AAA (BCEHL) and Vancouver T-Birds U13 A1, last season. Former player of Chinese Taipei’s IIHF Men’s National Team (Taiwan) and Sweden’s HockeyTvåan (Div II) and HockeyTrean (Div III) leagues. Patient and calm capable of breaking skills down into smaller segments for players to learn. Fluent in Mandarin and English.

Lead Coach

Longtime LGS athlete turned coach. Current Assistant Coach of North Vancouver U18A and has numerous years of U13A coaching experience in his resume. Lead Coach of Richmond Oval Hockey Club. Strong passion for teaching the game and building strong relationships with athletes. Certified mental performance coach.

Andrew Seppanen

Lead Coach

A native of Campbell River, BC, Andrew brings 15+ years of hockey coaching experience. Current Head Coach at South Delta U15A. Former Head Coach and GM of the Mackenzie Mountaineers Junior A Hockey Club.

Geoffrey So

Coach

Currently Head Coach for VMHA U13 A1 and Assistant Coach of VMHA and VTMHA’s U17 joint zone team, Geoffrey brings respectable hockey experience to the team. He grew up playing with VMHA before moving on to play for BWC Academy U18 Prep and four years of Junior hockey in the PIJHL.

Stef Wallace

Coach

Former NCAA Division I player at Princeton University. Three-time U18 Team BC member, played for the Oakville Hornets (PWHL). Stef grew up playing  for VMHA, participated in LGS development programs and now turned LGS coach. Patient and experienced coach focused on individualized player development and fostering empathy on and off the ice.

LGS athlete turned coach. Current coach of North Vancouver U15A and has experience coaching U13A as well. Former player in the BCEHL U18 AAA (Greater Vancouver Canadians) and CSSHL U18 Prep (St. George’s). Patient and calm coach who is great working with young players on various skillsets.
